Joan Kevorkian Obituary
Mrs. Kevorkian was born May 1, 1943, in Meriden, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Susan E. (Betts) Hagwood. She was educated in Meriden schools and in 1961, graduated from Brooklyn Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for many years as a registered nurse and was a dedicated wife, mother and Army spouse. She was a longtime resident of Meriden before moving to Cheshire in 1996. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Cheshire where she was active with many church activities.
Besides her husband of 42 years, Mrs. Kevorkian is survived by her sons, Chris Kevorkian and his wife, Antoinette Angotti, of Chevy Chase, Md., and Mike of Orlando, Fla.; her sister, Susan Fagan and her husband, John, of Cheshire; her grandchildren, Joey and Lily; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, 111 Church Drive. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Arlington National Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, Aug. 19, at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St., from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CT, 2075 Silas Dean Hwy., Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Dear Hal,
What a sad and unfair loss this is. I know how much you and your family adored Joan...I loved all the stories you would share of the wonderful memories of your times with Joan and the kids, grand kids and basset hounds. I am so very sorry to think of you going through this difficult time. Her obituary was beautiful; clearly she will be dearly missed. You and your loving family are in my prayers.
