Joann Amarone Obituary
Joann was born in New Haven on Jan. 8, 1939, daughter of the late John F. and Clementine Izzo Mongillo; she enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, but her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally.
She was a devoted mother of Andrew (Nancy) Amarone, Nicholas (Lori) Amarone, John Amarone, Josephine Amarone, Frank (Lisa) Amarone and the late Benny M. Amarone; loving grandmother of Andrew (Jayme) Amarone Jr., Nicole (Emanuel) Caccomo, Ashley Amarone, Brandon (Bethany) Amarone, Veronica (Alex) Limbos, Frank Amarone Jr., Jessica, Nikki, Marissa, Michael, Joann and Kristen Amarone; loving great grandmother of Jaydon, Jace, Kieran, Sophie, Michael, Bence, Dominic, Maximino, and Luke; sister of Madeline Mongillo, Arthur (Mara) Mongillo, Linda (Mark) Vincent, Robert (Janet) Mongillo and the late Rose Asperelli, John Mongillo Jr., and Bette Giordano. She was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to all the nurses and staff of Verdi 4 West and Arden House for their outstanding care and boundless compassion they provided to Joann.
Her funeral procession left the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Wednesday, Oct. 26. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Michael's Church, New Haven. Interment was followed in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
