John Ahern Obituary

John Thomas Ahern, 67, passed away comfortably on April 16th, 2023. John was born March 10th, 1956, in Wallingford, CT, where he lived the entirety of his life. He was an exterminator and well known for being the "bugman". John is survived by his parents, John and Dorothy Ahern; his wife Lynn Ahern; his daughter Jessica Ahern; his sister Gail DiStasio; his best friend Bob Buchanan, his nieces and nephews Kim Israel, Jason Michael, Katie Dziedzic, Robert Bacon and their families, along with many cousins. John loved to throw darts in the New Haven Dart league and leaves behind many great team mates and friends.

John had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and was happiest when he was making those around him laugh. Although he was a man of few words, he had a big heart and loved his family and friends so very much. For most of his life you could find him in the center surrounded by his people and the root of many shenanigans. He was a die-hard Red Sox fan and never missed a game. Few people on this earth loved music the way John did. He was a Beatles fanatic and music was one of the ways he felt so deeply and found words when there were none.

John's family and friends are comforted by knowing he is greeted on the other side by many loved ones, including his best friends Steven, Frank, Rich, and Billy along with his pets Kitty, Kobe, and Mickey. John's family would like those to know that in time, a Memorial Celebration of Life is to come.

"Though I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before

I know I'll often stop and think about them In my life, I love you more"

I played on the game site, its your turn with John for so many years... heard of his love of the Red Sox and his wife, his daughter Jess, and his parents..he hasn't made his turns since April 10th. I wondered if everything was ok and did a Google search to find he passed
.. I'm so sad and heart broken I won't get to hear more stories and pick on him when the Tigers beat his Red Sox..my deepest condolences to all of his family.. he loved you and talked about you all the time. Tammy H

Oh dear Lynn, Jessa and Gail - it is with such a heavy heart to have to write this. Michael and I are so glad we got to spend some quality time with Johnny a few weeks ago. Shared some laughs and some tears. Johnny was so passionate about his family and friends. But his beloved Red Sox and The Beatles came in a close second. Johnny, you were the first born into your family's "March 10th Cousin's 'Club'. You are impossible to replace and will be missed terribly. Rest in peace, our newest angel.
