Julie Nesti Obituary
She was born in New York, N.Y., the daughter of the late Anthony and Delia (Giamberardino) Venere and lived in the Bronx, N.Y., until moving to Wallingford in 1954. Julie was parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Julie embraced all of these roles and loved the life that she lived so long and so well. Widowed at age 47, she found comfort in faith, family and friends, and showed all of us strength and spirit as she dealt with an abrupt change in the life she had imagined for herself and her family. In addition to being devoted to all of us, Julie also gave generously of her time to others, as a dedicated volunteer for the Red Cross, the Wallingford Senior Center, and Most Holy Trinity Church.
Julie is survived by her three children, Michael Nesti and wife, Dee, of Wallingford, Christine Mazziotti and husband Jim, of Wallingford, and Joanne Nesti, of Haddam; her grandchildren, Melissa Smith and husband, Kirk, of Simsbury, Jimmy Mazziotti and wife, Kristen, Kate Nesti and fiancé, Dennis Ferrera, Gina Mazziotti and Josh Drescher, and Colby and Lindsay Prior, all of Wallingford; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Mace, Jimmy and Sara Mazziotti, Dean Smith and Felicia and Vincent Ferrara. She was predeceased by her brothers, Alfred, Albert and John.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Masonicare, including those at the Wright Residence and Masonic Hospice for their love, care and support for Julie during her years as a resident and in these final weeks of her life.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, Oct. 29, from 3 to 6 p.m. in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. directly at Most Holy Trinity Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to Most Holy Trinity Church, 68 N. Colony St., Wallingford CT 06492.
