Karan Baran Obituary
Karan Baran was born in Biddeford, Maine, on October 18th 1956, to the late Albert and Geraldine Gibault, and passed away on 1/15/2026, joining her husband in eternal peace, after a brave battle with cancer. Karan leaves behind her son, Ryan Skitromo and his wife, Beth; her three grandsons, Gabriel, Luke, and Jude; her siblings, Denise Horbacewicz and James Gibault; and several special nieces and nephews. Karan built an admirable life alongside her husband, Bruce Baran, for over 30 years, until his passing in 2014. Karan, ever resilient, found peace in her family and best friends, Lynn Baran, Iris Long, and Jody Langner. She enjoyed several years of her retirement with David Barbieri, whom she was very grateful to be with. Karan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
As Karan requested, services will be private.

We were blessed to know Karan through her partner David when he brought her into our family circle. Her bright warmth and genuine friendliness at every family gathering was truly a gift to us all. She will be missed by all the Barbieris and Murphys who became her friends over the years.
