Leanne Stankiewicz Batchelder

1942 - 2022

Leanne Stankiewicz Batchelder, loving wife of Laurence Batchelder, died on Saturday, October 22, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Born in Meriden on July 26, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen DeMaria Stankiewicz. Leanne resided in both Meriden then Wallingford. She graduated from Meriden High School. After owning and running the Redwood Restaurant she worked for Carabetta Management as a Rental Agent.

Leanne was a member of the Friends of the Library where she interviewed countless people for their television show. In addition to her husband Larry, she is survived by her two daughters, Jodi Batchelder Yamashita and Robyn Batchelder; three grandchildren, Philip, Tori and Morgan Pitarresi. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews and her aunts Carol Iben and Betty Washington. Leanne was predeceased by her brother Richard Stankiewicz, her granddaughter April Rose and her nephew Edmund Theriault.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St, Meriden, CT 06450. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave, Meriden, CT 06451. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leanne's memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter.
