Linda Ranno-Cleary Obituary

Linda L. Ranno-Cleary, 74, of Plantsville, formerly of Meriden, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her sons, on Friday, February 11, 2022, at MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Cleary of Meriden.

Linda was born on July 10, 1947 in Manchester, NH, to the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Talty) Lucier. Linda attended Meriden Schools and was an accomplished student winning the school spelling bee while at Lincoln Middle School. Linda had been employed for many years as a medical aide at Westfield Manor, Skyview Center and the Curtis Home in Meriden. Linda was devoted to her family, especially her four sons. She loved to cook and bake, which she would often do for several days at a time so that her family could enjoy Sunday spaghetti and delicious Italian cookies, brownies and cakes. Linda also enjoyed many trips to Bingo with her sister Brenda and many of her close friends. Linda was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees. Linda's loving and caring nature, along with her happy go luck personality made her enjoyable to be with.

Linda is survived by four sons who she shared with her first husband, Michael Ranno, Sr., of Meriden. They are, Michael Ranno, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Plantsville, Brian Ranno and his wife Rosa of Meriden, Dan Ranno and his wife Jacquelyn of Meriden, Kevin Ranno and his partner Joseph Spyros of Tampa, Florida. Linda is also survived by two brothers: Will Lucier and his wife Rose of Meriden, Nelson Lucier and his wife Judy of McDonough, NY; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her beloved mother Dorothy, her best friend and sister Brenda Zysek and her youngest brother Dwayne Lucier.

Linda's family would like to thank the dedicated doctors, nurses and aides at MidState Medical Center, Pavilion E for the compassionate care given to Linda and her family. A special thank you to nurses Jamie and Kristy who treated her like family in time of need and her daughter-law Patricia who provided loving care for her at home. May you be blessed with good health and happiness for all that you do for others. Linda fought hard and courageously, but in the end, God called her home. Her sons were with her until the end and believe she is at peace.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, February 19th at 9:30 a.m. from the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home (Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home), 450 Broad St., Meriden, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady Queen of Angels, St. Joseph Campus, 22 Goodwill Ave., Meriden, for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday evening February 18th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home (Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home).
