Lonitta Barker Obituary
Lonitta was born in Providence, R.I., May 11, 1911, the daughter of the late Hampton and Jessie (Macomber) Carr. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wallingford.
She is survived by a son, Gary Barker, of South Carolina; along with five granddaughters, Kelly Kalber, of Middletown, Kimberly Hummel, of Middletown, Heidi Bica, of Durham, Lucinda Mahoney, of Waterford, and Laurie DiNuzzo, of Meriden; and one grandson, David Barker, of Meriden; along with nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by a son, Wallace Barker Jr.; and three brothers, Robert, Clarence, and Frank Carr.
All services are private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Riverbend Cemetery in Westerly, R.I. The B. C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut, 74 Cheshire Road, Wallingford, CT 06492. Rest in peace Mom. I will always carry your love in my heart. You always gave me love freely with no questions asked. You were always there for me, with open arms and a secure hug and the words of comfort. You taught me right from wrong and your smile gave me peace in my heart.
