Walka
Marilyn Evelyn Walka, 80, of Middletown, formerly of Meriden, loving wife of 58 years to the late Anthony W. Walka, passed away peacefully with her children by her side, May 29, 2025 at Waters Edge Center in Middletown.
Marilyn, born on June 28, 1944 to the late Stanley and Dorothy (Quinn) Petroske, grew up in Meriden. Marilyn attended Francis T. Maloney High School where she met her husband Tony (known affectionately to many as "Butch"). During her business career, Marilyn worked at International Silver Company and Napier Jewelry, and also pursued a career as a real estate broker. Marilyn married Tony in 1964 and together they raised two children, Anthony S. Walka and Michele A. McManus.
Marilyn is survived by her children; her son-in-law, David McManus; her grandson, Luke McManus; and her youngest brother, Bobby Petroske, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and other treasured relatives. Marilyn is predeceased by her siblings, Alan, Jimmy, Donna and Shirley Petroske.
A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated on September 20, 2025 at noon at St. Bridget of Sweden in Cheshire. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford. In lieu of flowers donations in Marilyn's memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
