Mui Voong

1950 - 2021

Mui Voong was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She passed away on August 9, 2021, at 71 years, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy.

She is survived by her husband, Chenh Voong, and children Senh Voong, Phat Voong, Sinh Voong, and Megan Voong.

She was born November 11, 1950, in Mong Cai, Vietnam. As a refugee, she traveled in a boat for a month, temporarily ending up in a refugee camp in Hong Kong for a year before being sponsored by the C.A.R.E group of the First Congregational Church of Cheshire on September 11, 1979, with her husband, sister-in-law, and 3 young sons to the Cheshire community.

Mui loved cooking for her family and making sure that everyone was fed. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother taking joy in raising her six grandchildren. She was a kind, warm, and caring person which naturally drew others to her.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., on August 14, 2021, at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home in Cheshire, 615 S Main St., Cheshire. After visitation, a brief service will commence, and a burial will immediately follow at the Cheshire Hillside Cemetery, 166 Wallingford Rd., Cheshire.
