Pauline Travers Obituary
Born in Boston, Mass., on March 8, 1926, Pauline grew up in Lynn, Mass., and graduated from Lynn English High School in 1944. Attending Salem Hospital Nursing School, Pauline graduated as an RN in 1947. She worked in Florida for several months then traveled to Los Angeles, Calif. to work during the polio epidemic. Pauline married in 1949, and worked at Memorial Hospital for 15 years during which time she gave birth to seven children. Pauline continued her devotion to nursing by attending to the children in the Meriden Elementary School System while also working part-time at Royal Crest Nursing Home.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Jerome A. Travers; son, David M. Travers, son, Paul A. Travers; and daughter, Kathleen L. Travers.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Betsy and son-in-law, Carlos Gonzalez, of Meriden; son, Jerome Travers and wife, Susie; daughter, Mary Ellen Travers; and son, John Travers, of Butler, Tenn.
A private celebration of life will be held for family at the Eckankar Temple in Middletown. The John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden was entrusted with the arrangements. For online condolences please visit www.jferryfh.com.

Dear Travers Family
So sorry to hear of Polly's passing. She was a colleague of mine in Israel Putnam School where she was our school nurse. She was devoted to the students and they loved her. She was a sweet lady who will long be remembered. My sincere condolence to you all.
