Peter Syme Obituary

WALLINGFORD - Peter James Syme, 67, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Kathleen Galati Syme, died peacefully at home, Tuesday, March 26, 2014, with his loving family by his side.

Peter was born in Meriden, June 13, 1946, a son of the late John E. Syme and Fannie Lombardi Syme and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. He was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School and was employed as a brick mason, taking great pride in his work. Peter was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 1, was an avid N.Y. Giants fan and loved to garden.

In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by his son, Peter Syme Jr., and his wife, Michelle, of Haddam; and his daughter, Angelina Syme, of Wallingford; his sister, Kathleen Syme, of Wallingford; many cousins, nieces; and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John T. Syme.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Sunday, March 30, from 3 until 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, from The Wallingford Funeral Home at 10 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT. 06067 or to the CT. Humane Society, 700 Russell Road, Newington, CT. 06111.
