R. Dolan Obituary

MERIDEN - R. Timothy Dolan, born Nov. 19, 1943, took his final breath in the arms of his beloved wife, Roberta Dolan, surrounded by his children on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Tim proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy after graduating from Branford High School in 1961, and went on to get his teaching degree from Central Connecticut State University. Tim began his career as a related instructor teaching science at EC Goodwin Technical High School retiring in 2000. He was an active member of the Elks, serving as exalted ruler for the Meriden Elks 100th Anniversary. In his retirement Tim organized and ran the Senior's Daytime Pool League, and enjoyed planning RV trips to Sturgis, Texas, and Florida.

Tim took pride in being a risk taker, racing motorcycles, building their Dome home, and skydiving at 70, but he had no greater pride than in his three children, Tracee Dolan, Ryan Dolan, and Shelly and her husband, Ryan Malanson; and one sweet granddaughter, Emrys Lynch. In addition to his wife and children he is survived by his brothers, Harold Dolan and Genard Dolan; and the many friends he held close to his heart. He was predeceased by his sister, Janet Lassy.

A special thank you to Dr. Jacqueline Stone, who knew how to bring out the best in Tim, and to the caring staff of Hospice of Hartford.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Monday, March 13, from 4 until 7 p.m. His funeral will be held at 11 am, Thursday, March 16, at the First United Methodist Church of Meriden, 159 E. Main St., Meriden. Interment will be in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers gifts in his memory can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Office of Development, P.O. Box 27106, New York, N.Y. 10087 or Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice, 300 Queen St., Southington, CT.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loved one and my deepest condolences are extended to you. Something that's helped me through the death of loved ones is to reflect on 1 Corinthians 15:26.
