Rafael Agudo Obituary

Rafael Agudo, Jr., 63, gained his angel wings on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021. Born in Aquadilla, Puerto Rico, on Sept. 24, 1957, he was the son of the late Rafael and Rosa (Vazquez) Agudo.

Rafael was a student at Jefferson Middle School and was an active member of Meriden Kuhn and Aces programs. "Rafi", as we all knew and loved him, enjoyed riding his bike, watching wrestling, and spending time with his family. He was a huge part of his community and will be missed by many.

Rafi is survived by his siblings; Wilfredo Agudo, Elizabeth Penafiel, Richard Agudo and his wife Charlene Howe-Agudo, and Rosemary Agudo, as well as his nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Many aunts, uncles and cousins will also miss him. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved "Mamie"his longtime care giver. His beloved parents Rafael and Rosa Agudo, as well as his cherished nephew Wilfredo Agudo, Jr., predeceased Rafael.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, February 19th at the John J. The Arnum and Bolden family would like to express our deepest condolences to the Agudo family for the tremendous loss of "Big Brother" Rafael. Rafael was the "Love Ambassador" of Meriden CT. He loved everyone. No matter where he went he always had a big "smile" and loved to greet you no matter where you came in contact with him. In a sense, Rafael was the true "Mayor" of Meriden CT. Rafael will truly be missed and I know that GOD has his perfect "welcoming angel" that will be waiting for us if we are so lucky to make it to the Holy of Holy places. R.I.P Rafael and thank you for being a loving person that you were to me, my family, and to many others throughout your life.
