Richard J. Filipek
Richard J. Filipek, 61, passed away peacefully after a long illness, Friday, August 9, 2024, at Care One in Holyoke, MA.
Richard was born in Meriden, December 15, 1962, a son of the late Richard G. Filipek and Jeanne (Jacques) Filipek and was a lifelong Meriden resident. He was a graduate of Francis T. Maloney High School and was the 3rd generation owner of Filipek's Kielbasa, established in 1905 in Meriden. Richard was also an avid golfer. He is survived by his son Richard T. Filipek and his wife Desiree; his daughter Lori Sampson and her husband Anthony; his grandchildren Dominic Filipek, Roman Filipek, Kylo Filipek, Angelise Sampson, Naesean Sampson, Grace Sampson, Lovely Sampson; and Seth Sampson; his great-granddaughter Nariya; his sister Linda Standish and her husband Robert; and many friends. Richard's family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. For online condolences visit: www.meridenmemorialfh.com
