Rose C. Peretti

MIDDLETOWN, R.I.-Rose C. (Falcone) Peretti, 88, formerly of Portsmouth, R.I., and Meriden, Conn., died peacefully Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at the Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, R.I.

Born in Oakville, on April 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frank Falcone and Domenica Maria Martino. She was preceded in death by her siblings Joseph, Gaetano "Gus", Pasquale "Patrick", Charles, Louis, Frank Jr., Salvatore, Anna, Margaret, Theresa, and Louise. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Angelo C. Peretti (Dec. 3, 1990) and her longtime friend Conrad Lamy. She was married to Angelo C. Peretti on April 15, 1945. Together, they ran the Meriden Floor Service for many years. She also worked for many businesses in the Meriden area such as International Silver, The Villa Capri, Airpax, Thompson Candy Company and New Departure. Rose enjoyed baking her famous apple pies, loved knitting and exercising to "The Jack LaLanne Show". She also adored her "grand-dogs" Simba, Zena and Halley. She was actively involved in the Grand Islander's Activity Programs and enjoyed cooking, bingo and working the bake sale for the Alzheimer's Society. She was a big fan of Elvis Presley and Alan Jackson.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah and son-in-law, Benjamin Light, of Portsmouth, R.I.; and her step-daughter, Cleadia and husband, Michael Minervini, of Wallingford; along with many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are by the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring St., Newport, R.I. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 250 Gypsy Lane, Meriden, on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rose's memory to the Robert Potter League for Animals, P.O.
