Rosina Rudolewicz Obituary

Rosina (Bruce) Rudolewicz, 87, of Plainville, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on June 28, 2009. She was the beloved wife of Alexander F. Rudolewicz, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage.
She was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Brisbane, Australia, one of 10 children to the late John B. and Ivy Elizabeth (Bartley) Bruce. Upon their marriage in 1942, she moved to Connecticut with her husband joining her when discharged for the armed forces. They resided in New Britain where they started their family, and built their home in Plainville in the 1960s where they have since resided. She had a love for bingo, playing often at the Plainville Senior Citizens Center, where she leaves many friends, and enjoyed dancing the polka with her husband at the Polish National Home. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her daughter, Frances Lord, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; her son, Bruce Rudolewicz and his wife, Karen, of Forestville; her brothers, Harry, Jackie and Ray Bruce; her sister, Ivy Potts, of Bristol; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five siblings.
Bailey Funeral Home, Plainville, assisted the family with the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450 or the Plainville Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice of Connecticut, 40 East St., Plainville, CT 06062.
