Ruth P. Zychowski

CHESHIRE - Mrs. Ruth P. (Prentice) Zychowski, 74, of Cheshire died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at her home. She was the wife of Donald P. Zychowski.

Mrs. Zychowski was born Sept. 3, 1934 in Waterbury, the daughter of Ethel (Martin) Prentice and the late Stephen I. Prentice and has been a Cheshire resident for the past 52 years. She was a graduate of Highland Grammar School in Cheshire and Crosby High School in Waterbury and also attended Southern Connecticut State College. She was the secretary for her husband's business The Clock Man and was also employed as a school bus driver, in Cheshire for 10 years. She was also a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, landscaping and taking care of her grandchildren. Mrs. Zychowski was a Communicant of the Church of the Epiphany.

Besides her husband of 54 years and her mother, she leaves her daughter, Debra Kumkowski and her hus-band, Michael of Cheshire, her sons, Robin Zychowski and his wife, Marlene of Cheshire and David Zychowski and his wife, Michele of Naugatuck; her brother, Stephen Prentice and his wife, Miriam of Cheshire; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Antoinette and Julian Kilar, of Wallingford and Leonard and Myra Zychowski, of Marietta, Ga. She also leaves her grandchildren, Lisa McGinn, Laura Kumkowski, Matthew Zychowski, Lara Zychowski and Emma Zychowski.

A Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Zychowski will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany 1750 Huckins Road, in Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at Church. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery.
