Shirl Lee Gillis, 68, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021 in CT while visiting family and friends. She was the wife of Charles Wesley Gillis, Jr.

Mrs. Gillis was born November 8, 1952, in Texas, the daughter of the late Blanche (Meyer) Colbert. She was raised in Meriden and resided in East Hampton before moving to Georgia in 2008.

Besides her husband of 40 years, Mrs. Gillis is survived by her son Michael Gillis (Elizabeth) of Berlin and daughter Jessica Otlowski (Richard) of Cheshire. Grandmother "Grammy" to Elise Spalla, Mark Golembeski, MJ Gillis, Allie Otlowski, Richie Gillis, Tori Otlowski, Joe Otlowski, and 4 great-grandchildren, sisters Lynn Snedeker of VT and Patty Roccapriore of R.I., as well as cousins, aunts and numerous friends that she loved as family. She will also be missed by all.

Arrangements - Services for Mrs. Gillis will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at 3 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. A period of visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 pm until the start of the service.

For her Georgia friends that had become family, a service will be held in the near future.
