March 6, 1955 - August 19, 2024
Susan Jane Amarante, 69, of Wallingford, wife of the late Frank Amarante, passed away on August 19, 2024 at MidState Medical Center.
Susie was born in Meriden on March 6, 1955, the daughter of the late Alice (Bailey) and Erlan Jones.
Susie was an avid bird watcher and a big fan of the NBA. In addition to raising her 2 boys, Susie worked at ACES Village School in North Haven as an Individual Aide to Special Needs children. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and generosity that enriched the lives of so many.
Susie is survived by her son, Troy Amarante, her son, James Amarante and daughter-in-law, Daniela Flores, and her beloved cat, Annie. Susie is also survived by her sisters, Sandy Pajor and Sherryll Jones, her brother, Steven Jones and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Susie's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Her funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.

It has been a true pleasure to be Susie's friend and companion this last year. Even on the hard days, she always greeted me with a genuine, welcoming smile. Thank you Susie, for your kindness, generosity, and all of the giggles.
Susie's love for her sons was palpable and unwavering. What a gift that is.
