Thomas Cioffi Obituary

Thomas J. Cioffi, age 83, of Middlefield, passed away on November 23, 2024. He was the husband of Linda Morse Cioffi for 57 years. Born in New Haven to Pasquale and Theresa Balletto Cioffi. Tom's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, children Anne (Matt) McLennan of Massachusetts and Seth (Patricia) Cioffi of Rocky Hill, as well as his adored grandchildren, Logan and Mason McLennan and Sarah Cioffi. He leaves behind his devoted labradoodle companion, Sadie. A dedicated educator, Tom's career in teaching began in Wallingford, where he taught at Moran Middle School and Parker Farms Elementary School. He later served as a science teacher at DePolo Middle School in Southington. Tom's leadership skills were soon recognized and he moved into administrative roles in Meriden, becoming the Vice Principal of Lincoln Middle School and later Principal of Jefferson Middle School. He then returned to Lincoln as Principal and concluded his career as Principal of Thomas Hooker Elementary School.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday, December 28th, at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Extension, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a service to follow in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Project Excel, 91 Stoneycrest Drive, Meriden, CT 06450 or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 16th floor, New York, NY 10001.
