Thomas Monroe Obituary

Thomas Michael Monroe
May 14, 1971 - May 14, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Michael Monroe, who left us on May 14, 2025, on his 54th birthday. Born on May 14, 1971, in Norwalk, CT, to John H. and Fonda Marie (Drew) Monroe. Tom was the loving husband of Jennifer Margaret (Fell) Monroe. Tom spent his life making an impact in both his professional and personal circles. Tom was a dedicated financial advisor for 30 years, beginning his impressive career at Merrill Lynch and most recently making his mark at Raymond James. He was recognized as one of the top 40 brokers under 40 and brought an unmatched level of commitment to his clients. Beyond work, Tom had a passion for sports and enjoyed skiing and golfing, often found hitting the links at the Country Club of Farmington, where he was a member. He was a proud graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he developed a lifelong love for his school's men's and women's basketball teams. Tom was also a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, Giants and Rangers and could often be seen cheering his teams on. Tom was deeply involved in his community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Cancer Foundation, the Cheshire Food Pantry, and the Wounded Warrior Project. His commitment to helping others was truly inspiring. Along with his wife and parents, he will be missed by his brother, Jay Monroe and his wife Joann, his sister, Susan DePalaolo and her husband Chris, and his precious daughters, Libbi and Mei Monroe, and his loving stepchildren, Jeffrey and Kaylee Fell. Tom also leaves behind his nieces, Krystal Meier, Olivia Geurtsen, Hailey Monroe, Mallory DePalaolo, and Charlotte DePalaolo, along with his father-in-law, Alan Mancini. Tom was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Diane Mancini. We invite all who knew and loved Tom to join us in honoring his remarkable life and the joy he brought to so many. Family and friends may gather at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services in celebration of Tom's life will take place the following day, Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tom's name may be made to the Cheshire Food Pantry, 175 Sandbank Road, Cheshire, CT 06410, or to the Connecticut Cancer Foundation, 15 North Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT 06475. I have tried to write several times. I am so sorry for the whole Monroe family for the loss of this wonderful human. John, Fonda, Susan and Jay were all so great to me in High School and Tommy was the best first boyfriend- caring, sweet and funny! He obviously adored his daughters and wife Jennifer and they did not got nearly enough time with him. Praying for you all especially today as you honor, celebrate, and grieve a special person. Here´s a throwback of T in his classic CB jacket, how did he not make fun of my big hair?! Sending love to you all.
