Tyrone L. Clemons, 73, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at The Hebrew Center. He was the son of Faye S. and Samuel D. Clemons, born in Bells Mill, Virginia, on March 23, 1948.
As a military kid, Tyrone grew up in Virginia, Rhode Island, and Texas. Tyrone served in the U.S. Army as a Signal Corp Lineman stationed in Germany, Georgia and three tours to Vietnam, before retiring as a Staff Sergeant. While stationed in Germany, he met the late Petronella "Nell", whom he later married in Holland. Tyrone was a loving father to Aimee and adoring Pop-Pop to Brianna, Iayanna, Jayden and Chief. When not laughing and joking around, Tyrone could be found catching a quick nap, building miniature model cars, or listening to the radio or some funk music.
He will be remembered and missed by his siblings Marvin (Norma) Trotman, Valerie Roberson, Robert (Patricia), Robbie, Anthony, and Samuel K. Clemons; maternal aunts Carolyn McFadden, Florence McNatt, Addie Walles and maternal uncle TJ Alexander; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by his mother Faye, Petronella; his aunts and uncles Rose McDonald, Zella Mae Clemons, Harold Small, Bob, Edward and Wille "Green" Alexander; and niece Donneta Roberson.
Services for Tyrone will be held November 1st, 4-6 PM at Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT, with monarch cremation services.
