William Zemina Obituary
He was born in Hamden, Aug. 18, 1922, a son of the late William and Mary Cavar Zemina and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He had been employed as a tractor trailer driver and was a member of the Teamsters. He later worked as an auto mechanic at local garages. William was an avid Nascar Fan and enjoyed going to the casino.
He is survived by his devoted companion, Virginia Miner; his sons, William E. Zemina Jr., and his wife, Louise, of Wallingford, Glenn Zemina and his wife, Nancy, of East Hampton, and Scott Zemina and his wife, Ellen, of Wallingford; his daughter and son-in-law, Shellie and Mark Catala, of Wallingford; the mother of his children, Beverly Weber Zemina; his grandchildren, Amy Zemina, Sharon Zemina, Carol Zemina, Mary Zemina, Natalie Zemina, David Zemina, Christine Zemina Hein, Jeffrey Zemina, Chelsea Catala, Alyssa Catala and Cassandra Catala; his great-granddaughter, Cheryl Czerwinski; his sisters, Doris Braccidefero and her husband, Andy, of West Willington, and Evelyn Budzinski, of Willimantic.
His family would like to thank the staffs of Branford Hills Health Center and the Regency House of Wallingford for the excellent care they provided.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Thursday, June 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment will be private in the State Veterans' Cemetery in Middletown. Gifts in his memory may be sent to The Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
