Barbara Boron Obituary
Newport, NC — Barbara J. (Gibowicz) Boron, 75, passed away surrounded by love on Wednesday 10/6/21 at her daughter's home in Newport, North Carolina with her daughter Jennifer and son in law, Keith by her side. She was born in Greenfield, MA on February 15, 1946, the daughter of Charles and Blanche (Kacpura) Gibowicz. She attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School.
Barbara was an active member at the Polish Picnic Grounds in Greenfield for many years. She was office manager/secretary for Dr. Averil, MD in Greenfield until her retirement.
In May of 2019, Barbara moved to North Carolina to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.
She loved to travel with her sister, daughter and grandchildren, especially to the beach. Barbara enjoyed volunteering at the children's schools and the local church thrift shop.
Among her survivors, Barbara leaves her daughter, Jennifer Kamaris and her husband Keith; three grandchildren, Aidan, Landon and Sophia Kamaris; a sister, Dottie "Lee-Lee" Morgan; a brother, Robert Gibowicz and his wife Tessie; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Charles and Blanche Gibowicz, Barbara was predeceased by a brother, Charles Gibowicz, Jr.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday 10/19 at 10am at Our Lady Czestochowa Church, 84 K Street, Turners Falls. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Greenfield.
Calling hours will be held Monday evening from 4-7pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.
