Bruce R. Clark

Okeechobee, FL — On Wednesday, 10/20/2021, Bruce R. Clark, 79, of Stafford Springs, CT and Okeechobee, FL died peacefully at home in FL, with his beloved wife, Aloma, by his side.

The son of Gerald and Arlene (Sherbut) Clark, Bruce was born on 1/2/1942, and was raised in Erving, MA. He graduated from Ralph C. Mahar Regional High School in Orange, MA and attended Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston. He was proud to have been a Boy Scout and attend the 1957 Jamboree in Valley Forge.

Bruce retired from SNET in 1995 and the US Naval Reserve in 1988. He was a firefighter at West Stafford Fire Department for 43 years, doing a meticulous job as chief engineer for many years. Bruce had many hobbies including beekeeping, washing and waxing his and many friends' vehicles, bluegrass and country music fests, travel, NASCAR races, gardening, and woodcutting. He also had a small orchard, built his log splitter and his cordwood saw. A man of many talents.

He was an avid motorcyclist and he and Aloma traveled extensively by motorcycle, doing several cross-country trips. In 2002 they purchased a camper and in 2006, went "full-timing" in their RV. He was proud to say that he visited all 50 states, all of the Canadian provinces/territories except Nunavit, 44 of the US National Parks and many countries outside of the US.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Aloma (Marden) Clark, his children Christina Anderson and her fiancé Rick Mason, Terry Merrow and his wife Erin, Catharina Pero, Cynthia Campbell and her husband Lee, Christine Nickerson and her partner, Barbara. He also leaves behind 18 beloved grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. And so many friends from all around the country, as he was so friendly and always willing to help anyone.

Bruce was predeceased by his son, Kenneth, his brother Wesley and his parents.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date. At his request, memorial donations in his memory may be made to: West Stafford Fire Dept., 144 West Stafford Road, Stafford Springs, CT 06076
