Bryan Benoit

Greenfield, MA — Bryan Benoit, of Greenfield,MA passed away December 17 with wife Sally by his side after fighting a brave and courageous battle resulting from complications of surgery.

Bryan was an army veteran serving in Vietnam, 9th Infantry, 3rd Battalion 60th Infantry Regiment, specialty-Field Wireman. He received the RVN Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Army Meritorious Unit Citation Ribbon. Bryan was a skilled marksman, joining the state of Maine team at the national competition at Camp Perry, Ohio as well as other years as an individual. He enjoyed spending summers at Camp Howe as a firearms instructor. He was also involved in the local Ducks Unlimited chapter. Bryan's work experiences included assisting at a farm in Ashfield, The Bear Swamp Project, Berkshire East Ski Area, B&M Railroad, painter, and carpentry.

Bryan is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sally Richardson, his sister Gloria (Ali) Sarlak of Corvallis, Oregon and a cousin Wayne Gardner of Ashfield. He leaves his brothers-in-law Robert (Holly) Richardson, Mark Richardson ( Linda Adele), and niece Ella Richardson. He also leaves his special "adopted" family Cindy, Jeremiah, Sean, and Lucas Bayer. Also special to Bryan was Jason and Jeremy, and Caren, Michael and Tim. All his friends-especially Ernie J, Rich K, Bill G, Rick O, Tom H, and Bob M.

Bryan was predeceased by his father Everett Benoit, mother Viola (Gardner) Benoit, sister Anita, brother Gary, uncles Art and Harold Gardner, and an aunt Helen Gardner.

Outdoors was Bryan's place of solace. Whether he was bird hunting with his dog Molly, mowing the pastures, clearing brush, or just walking- he was most at peace in nature. Bryan is now free to join his faithful dog Molly- may they share the joy of being together again.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the fall of 2022.

So sorry to hear this news I just found out Bryan had passed . I was just thinking about him few weeks ago and was talking with former co worker when we worked together we had many conversations on hunting firearms and used to run into him at antique firearm shows was a soft spoken man and admired him RIP and condolences to the family! :(
