Turners Falls, MA - Carol A. (Dubreuil) Dion, 71, of Millers Falls Rd. passed away peacefully at home on Thursday November 17, 2022. She was born in Montague October 11, 1951, the daughter of James R. and Theresa R. (Suprenant) Dubreuil.

Carol attended local schools and graduated from Turners Falls High School the Class of 1969. She worked for New England Telephone for a period of time before going to Deerfield Academy in the admission office where she worked for 41 years; retiring in 2017.

Carol enjoyed knitting, reading, and traveling with her husband, Bruce throughout the New England area. Their adventurous trips took them from the coastlines of Maine and Cape Cod to the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont. Carol also enjoyed visiting thrifty and craft type stores to find special pieces that resonated with her that she either wore, decorated with, or gave to friends and family. She cherished local walks and shopping trips with her loving sister, Chris who she was very close with. Carol had a strong heart and a loving soul and was a caregiver for her late cousin, Judy Gagnon who also suffered from similar difficulties with cancer. Carol was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church where the over 50 scarfs she knitted were given away to those in need. Carol was a breast cancer survivor.

She leaves her beloved husband of 50 years Bruce. They were married in the former St. Mary's Church on May 20,1972. Carol also leaves her beloved sons; James of Turners Falls and Justin and his wife Heather of Greenfield who was like a daughter to her, and her sister Christine Dubreuil and her husband Joe Brunelle. Carol had an army of close family members as well as her long-time best friend, Michelle Bednardski caring for her at home during the last weeks in her battle against cancer. The church community, local friends and family pitched in to support them with daily meals, flowers, and encouraging words to stay in fight.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Carol will be held Tuesday November 22, 2022, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Peace Church with the Rev. Stanley Aksamit pastor officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

A calling hour will be held from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square.
