Carole Sierakoski Obituary

Carole J. (Corboy) Sierakoski

Shelburne , MA - Carole Jane (Corboy) Sierakoski, 83, a resident of Shelburne Center Road, passed peacefully at home on Friday, June 27, 2025 following a period of declining health. A native of Sault Saint Marie, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of Kathleen Isabel (Cliffe) and Robert Howard Corboy. Carole was educated in local parochial schools, and was a graduate of High School in 1960.

Carole met her future husband John Walter Seriakoski, a Montague native, while he was serving at Kincheloe AFB, in Michigan. They married on November 15, 1968 and upon John's discharge from active duty in 1971 relocated to Western Massachusetts and made their home in Greenfield, MA.

Carole then accepted Nursing Assistant positions with several local assisted living facilities that included, the former Farren Memorial Hospital in Montague, the Franklin County Public Hospital in Greenfield, as well as the former Franklin Nursing Home/Franklin Center Genesis Assisted Living Center. Carole enjoyed sewing, knitting, dabbling creatively with stained glass, tag sales and most of all, had a voracious love of reading.

Sadly, Carole was predeceased by her loving husband John in December of 2018, following 50 years of marriage. She is loving remembered by her son Jason Robert Sierakoski and his wife Treasa of Shelburne Falls, MA, and by her granddaughter Marissa Boyd and her husband Dawson, and their children Payton and Bentley to remember her with affection. Additionally, Carole leaves her three siblngs: Bob Corboy, Helen Infanti, Dianne Flood and is survived by several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews all of whom reside in Canada.

In keeping with Carole's request for simplicity, following cremation she will be interred privately in the Shelburne Center Cemetery, Shelburne, MA and be reunited with her beloved husband John. In keeping with Carole's love of reading, it is suggested that a donation in her memory be made to one's local community Library.

The McCarthy Funeral Homes of Greenfield and Turners Falls, have been entrusted with Carole's care and arrangements. Remembrances may be directed to Carole's Tribute Wall @www.mccarthyfuneralhomes.com
