Charles R. Pielock

OCALA, FL - Charles R. Pielock, 83, recently passed away at his home in Ocala, Florida, with his son Michael and daughter-in-law Linda at his side. He was born in 1933 in Deerfield, MA, to Charles W. and Alice (Sadoski) Pielock.
Charlie attended the Deerfield public schools, Deerfield Academy and later Hebron Academy in Maine. He continued his undergraduate studies at the College of the Holy Cross where he excelled in athletics and was a member of the notable 1954 basketball team. Charlie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at American International College, concentrating in American History and Secondary Education. He went on to teach high school for over 30 years in both private and public schools and retired in 1993 from Ralph C. Mahar Regional High School in Orange, MA. Charlie's real passion in life was coaching and he served as the varsity basketball coach at Mahar for many years and founded a golf team at the school before retiring.
He married Eleanor Nieskoski at St. Stanislaus Church in South Deerfield in 1954 and after retiring, they spent their time following the best polka bands, enjoying the lively music and engaging in spirited dancing. Charlie was an avid golf player and spent many hours with his sons on the golf course and was actively involved with his three grandchildren.
He was a loving and devoted husband to Eleanor for 62 years who predeceased him in 2015. Charlie is survived by his three children, Thomas Pielock and his wife Elizabeth of Conway, MA; Pamela Pielock and her husband Jim Elsevier of Edgewater, FL; and Michael Pielock and his wife Linda of Orlando, FL, and three wonderful grandchildren, Michael, Carson and Tanner. Charlie also leaves two sisters, Harriet Rutkowski of Northampton, MA and Theresa Swist, of South Deerfield, MA; and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends. His sister Marion Shuzdak of Hadley, MA, predeceased him.
The family will hold a private memorial ceremony and burial at the family gravesite in South Deerfield, MA.
