Donald Oberacker Obituary

GILL - Donald Peters Oberacker, 86, of Main Road, Gill died Wednesday evening (6-29-2016) at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Boston, Ma. on June 7, 1930, the son of Frederick and Blanche (Peters) Oberacker. He graduated from Utah State University and the University of Maryland. Don was a Marine who served during the Korean War. He taught various science classes at Pioneer Valley Regional High School, Academy Junior High School in Glastonbury, Connecticut and at Greenfield Community College. He enjoyed fly fishing, camping, boating, and spending time in Maine.
He leaves behind his wife Rita (Gibson), daughter Lisa, son Chad, daughter-in-law Claudette, five grandchildren: Jada, Sean, Dylan, Victoria, and Eileen. He also leaves behind a sister Janice.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway St. Suite 2, Greenfield, MA 01301.

Hi! I'm a former student of Mr. Oberacker, my condolences. I took his botany class at GCC and his zest for all life including plants shined through!
