Edward Tie'

1921 - 2018

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - Edward Tie', 96, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., formerly of Northfield, MA passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 after a period of declining health.
Ed was born in New York City, NY on July 11, 1921 son of Jose Tie' and Eleanor (Holland) Tie' and moved to Northfield at an early age.
He joined the Army in June 1941 serving during WWII and was in Pearl Harbor on that faithful day, December 7, 1941. Upon his honorable discharge in June of 1945 he went to work as a master painter and wallpaper hanger for the Northfield Inn until its closing and then was self-employed painting and wallpapering until his retirement 1987.
Ed met his wife, Lillian, while working at the Northfield Inn and they were married on September 25, 1945. Lillian predeceased Ed in 2000 after 55 years of marriage.
Ed loved playing golf all throughout his life, a passion he passed on to his son and grandsons. Everyone said he had a great swing and how did he learn to do that. He also enjoyed bowling, riding bicycle, and taking walks in nature.
He is survived by his son, Ron and wife, Shirley of Arizona and a daughter, Lorraine Zamojski and husband, Steve of Ashfield, MA, 4 grandsons, Ryan Tie', Eric Tie', Mark Tie' and Jason Derrig. Ed also leaves 5 great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later time and date and are under the direction of Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave, Northfield, MA
