Faith E. Rockwood
Greenfield , MA - Faith Rockwood, daughter of the late William Rockwood Jr. and Florence (Lockwood) Rockwood, was born October 8, 1955 in Greenfield, MA. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1973 and later graduated from Greenfield Community College in 1992 becoming the first person in her family to obtain a college degree. Shortly thereafter, she began working for the Early Intervention Program, REACH, from which she would retire after thirty years.
Faith dedicated her life to service of many kinds. As a long-time resident of Bernardston, Faith was on the Planning Board and Veterans Memorial Committee. She later became the President of the Board of the Franklin Area Survival Center, an institution that remained close to her heart for the rest of her life. Faith had a well-known, passionate support of those who served our country in the military and for police officers. She was a strong supporter of the Greenfield Police Department.
Aside from volunteer work, Faith had many interests including genealogy and antiquing, particularly red glass. She was a prolific reader, often reading hundreds of books a year. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruising in the Caribbean. She was an animal lover who supported many charitable organizations devoted to animal welfare.
Faith had a daughter and son-in-law, Tanya Parker and Joshua Parker of Lake Wales, FL, as well as two granddaughters, Allison Grant, married to Oengus Gallagher of Greenfield, MA, and Ella Parker of Asheville, NC. Faith was from a large family, as the youngest of ten children. She was predeceased by brothers William Rockwood III, Martin Rockwood, Larry Rockwood, Allen Rockwood, and George Rockwood. She is survived by one sister, Shirley Foster of East Hartford, CT and brothers Wayne Rockwood, Kirk Rockwood, and Raymond Rockwood. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Faith requested that a donation may be made to the Franklin Area Survival Center, 96 Fourth Street, Turners Falls, MA. Faith's family will receive guests on Thursday evening, October 23, 2025 from 5pm to 7pm at the McCarthy Funeral Homes, 36 Bank Row, Greenfield, MA. Private interment will take place in the Green River Cemetery at the request of her family. McCarthy Funeral Homes is entrusted with Faith's care and arrangements.
