Henry Gabriel Obituary
Greenfield, MA - Henry "Gabe" Gabriel, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 16, 2024, after a brief illness. He was born in Fall River, MA on May 22, 1929 the son of Manuel and Marianna (Souza) Gabriel. He was a devoted father to his five children with his former deceased wife they are, Joan, Kathryn O' Donnell, Mark Gabriel, Susan Bachison Johnson, Jacqueline Marciano, and James Gabriel.
Gabe proudly served his country in the military in the US Army then the US Air Force. After the military he and his former wife Joan and children moved to Greenfield where he worked for the B & M railroad. After retirement he worked part time at the Sunderland Waste Water Plant. Gabe loved singing and performed in church choirs over many years. He was a founding member of the Romeos (Retired Older men entertaining others). He was very active at the YMCA where he worked out three times a week on "Silver sneakers". Gabe and Marilyn spent many joy filled times as professional clowns in the late 80's, creating balloon animals, painting faces, and trying to perfect juggling. They offered classes at St. Patrick's church in Northfield and brought many smiles to students of all ages.
Gabe is survived by his children and devoted wife Marilyn (Gallant) and her children Tom and Maria Bouchard and Kathleen Baker. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, and two step grandchildren. He was predeceased by a step daughter Susan Bouchard.
Funeral services will be Wednesday March 27, 2024 from the Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave, Northfield, MA at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick's Church, Main St., Northfield. The Rev. Paul Bombardier will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Pentecost Cemetery in Northfield.
There are no calling hours.
There will be a reception at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 147 Main St., Northfield immediately following the Mass.
Donations in his memory may be made to the YMCA, 451 Main St., Greenfield, MA 01301

Gabe was my Brother In Law ! The nicest man you could ever have the Privilege of knowing! He was a great Father to his five children! We have so many memories!
