Joanne Coney Obituary
GREENFIELD - Joanne Carole Coney of 333 Adams Road, Greenfield went peacefully to Heaven on February 18, 2017 with her son Chris and husband Jerry by her side.
She attended Blessed Sacrament Church in Greenfield.
Her in-laws Lee and Evelyn Coney (Indiana) and a brother Richard pre-deceased her.
On November 25, 1941 Joanne Carole DeNofrio was born to Anthony and Rose DeNofrio (deceased) in Greenfield. Joanne attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from the Greenfield High School. Joanne and Jerry were married on August 19, 1961 in the Catholic Chapel at Westover Air Force Reserve Base in Chicopee, MA by Rev. Erenest P. Moreau (deceased). Patricia Croteau Miller was maid of honor and Reginald Johnson was best man.
Joanne was once employed at Tile Craft, Greenfield, Cumberland Farms, Turners Falls, MA and Poet's Seat Nursing Home. She was a domestic engineer also. She was a past member of the Mohawk Chapter for Children with Disabilities, the school volunteer program, assistant Den Leader and committee person for the American Legion Pack 81 Cub Scouts. For many years she was involved with the Holy Trinity Bingo program and the Blessed Sacrament Adoration Chapel.
She leaves her husband Gerald Sr. of Greenfield (55 years), two sons Gerald Jr./Lalaunie of Ashland, NH, Christopher/Ex wife Rene Capen of Turners Falls and Erving, MA, a daughter Rebecca Ann/William Maclaughlin of Valdosta, GA, two grandchildren Keri Lynn and Richard Allan, GA, three great-grandchildren Olivia, Allie and Ronan Maclaughlin, HA, her husband's parents Jen and Bill Maclaughlin of NC.
A very special thanks to Peter and staff of Unit 3 of the Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility for their devoted care they gave Joanne during her stay.
Grateful to Farren Care Center for flowers and cards and to all who sent their words of support. Also to Hospice for all their help.
Joanne was cremated at the Boston Cremation of Malden, MA. No services were performed by request of family.
