Funeral service for Julia Ann Odom Covin, age 75, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Todd Evans officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Forest Grove Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove.

Mrs. Covin, who died Monday, January 6, 2014, at Huntsville Hospital, was born May 27, 1938, to Grady William Odom and Stella Mae Shirley Odom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl William Covin; and one grandson, Jeremy Lee Covin. Mrs. Covin was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Grady William Covin (Patricia Ann) of Wilsonville; one daughter, Carla Ann Harvell of Decatur; one sister, Theresa VrMeer of Decatur; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Mountainview Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 364, Chelsea, AL 35043.
