Katalin A. "Kathy" Bonnett

1952 - 2014

NORTHFIELD - Katalin "Kathy" A. Bonnett, 61, of South Mountain Road, died Tuesday afternoon (7-1-14) at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Hungary on Sept. 5, 1952, the daughter of Miklos and Heidi (Hart) Bakai. She came to this country in her youth where she was educated.
She was married to Lawrence Bonnett on Sept. 2, 1972 in Northfield.
She worked for 28 years as a special needs teacher in the Pioneer Valley Regional School system, both at Northfield Elementary School and later at Pioneer Valley Regional School.
She enjoyed all things in nature, and loved waterfalls, birds, and all of her students.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence, and her mother, Heidi Hart of Vancouver, British Columbia; one son, Nickolaus and his wife Jennifer of Gilmanton Iron Works, NH, and a daughter, Tina Massmann and her husband Scott of Fort Irwin, CA; two grandchildren, Samantha Bonnett and Zachary Massmann. She is also survived by a half-brother, Tibor Vas of Hungary, and nephew, Gabor Vas, and niece, Chilla Vas, and an uncle, Stephen Kreischer of Lakewood, CA.
Funeral services will be Monday (7-7-14) from the Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave., Northfield, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church at 10. The Rev. Thomas Lisowski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Farms Cemetery, Northfield.
Calling hours will be Sunday evening (7-6-14) from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
