Louis Pogoda Obituary

MEDFORD, NJ - Louis S. Pogoda, Jr., 65, of Medford, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Samaritan Inpatient Hospice, Mt. Holly, NJ.
Growing up in Turners Falls, Louis was well known for his academic excellence, receiving numerous awards especially in the field of science. While in high school Lou was a statewide finalist on the Science Countdown TV program. Later Lou was largely self-taught in the field of computing, which was integral to the various positions he held during his career. Born in Turners, Louis resided in Medford, NJ for the last 24 years. He was a parishioner at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church in Medford, and was the Senior Statistical Consultant for DataCeutics in Pottstown, PA.
Son of the late Louis S. Pogoda, Sr. and Genevieve: brother of the late Edward Pogoda; he is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Ruth (nee Feil) Pogoda; his daughter, Michelle Fullerton; two brothers, Jon and Robert Pogoda; his sister and brother-in-law, Gena and Robert Rumbel; three grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy and Stephanie Fullerton; his great grandson, Mason; and three nephews and a niece, Timothy Willor and Michael, Matthew and Melanie Rumbel.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, October 1, 2015, from 6-8 p.m., and again on Friday, October 2, from 9-10 a.m., at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church, 40 Jackson Rd., Medford.
Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery at Historic Medford Village.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Louis' memory to:
Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053
