BERNARDSTON - Michael S. ""Mike"" Gexler, 56, of Hillcrest Dr., died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in Greenfield on August 31, 1958, he was the son of Michael and Sylvia (Devino) Gexler. Mike attended Greenfield schools and graduated from Greenfield High School, class of 1976. He attended Greenfield Community College.
On August 9, 1980 Mike was married to the former Doreen (Dobias).
In 1981, Mike started his own business and opened Computer Wares. He was always hard at work and dedicated to his business and clientele.
In his free time away from the business, Mike enjoyed the beach and loved sports of all kinds, but most of all, was his time spent with family. His sharp wit and sense of humor kept his friends and family smiling and laughing.
Survivors include his mother Sylvia of Tamerac, FL, his wife of 34 years Doreen, three sons; Michael J. of Oak Harbor, WA, Jesse L. of Bernardston, James D. ""J.D."" of Bernardston, a daughter Leah R. Gexler of Naples, FL, two grandchildren Audrina and Lukas, a brother Terry of Fall River, MA, two sisters; Pamela Mathieu of South Deerfield, Wendy Wilcox of Naples, FL, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mike was predeceased by his father Michael in 2001.
Visiting hours will be Friday March 20 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St., Greenfield. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
