Richard Whiting Obituary
Born in Needham on February 2, 1942, he was a son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Oliver) Whiting.
Following high school, Richard had served in the United States Coast Guard.
In 1966, he married Barbara (Forbes) and they have enjoyed 47 years together.
Richard had worked as an Assistant Supervisor for the Department of Conservation and Recreation for 25 years before retiring from a job he thoroughly enjoyed.
Very active in the Town of Warwick, Richard had served as a Selectman for 10 years as well as serving on most committees in town. He loved to help others and especially loved the people of Warwick. For many years, he volunteered serving senior meals at the town hall.
Richard and Barbara traveled to Nova Scotia frequently and loved the area.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Barbara Whiting of Warwick; two nephews and one niece; and several grandnephews and grandnieces.
There are no calling hours.
Services will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is directing the arrangements.

Barbie, our thoughts & prayers are with you at this sad time. Dick will be missed by all of us very much, at our beach community in Nova Scotia. Dick was always so willing to help everyone & we know how much Dick loved it here. Love to you & your family.
