Roger Storozuk Obituary

Roger Storozuk Jr.

South Deerfield, MA - Sgt. Roger "Doc" Storozuk Jr, aged 76, spent his final birthday surrounded by his loving family before passing away in the early hours of April 2, 2025, holding the hand of the love of his life, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Leeds, MA. Born on April 1, 1949, Roger dedicated much of his life to his country, taking 2 tours in Vietnam serving as a Sergeant and medic in the Army, a commitment that demonstrated his patriotism and discipline. He served with the HHD124th Signal Bn 4th Infantry Division. He also served in the United States National Guard. After his time in the military, Roger was employed by UMass Amherst.

Roger's life was filled with simple pleasures; he was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed birdwatching, providing him moments of peace and connection with nature. A fan of classic westerns, Roger enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, a hobby that reflected his love for tales of courage and frontier justice. He loved music, with a specific love of Golden Oldies. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife and family, cherishing every moment spent together.

Roger leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Marion Dodge Storozuk of South Deerfield, and is survived by a loving family: his sister Brenda Milewski; niece Kiera Leitner and her husband Jonathan; his children Charity Alexander, Joseph A. Storozuk Sr. and his wife Brooke, Tracy Charest and her husband John, and Steven LaClaire and his wife Leah. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Keiffer and his wife Emaleth, Zakkary, Samantha, Joey Jr, Emmy, Jaymes, Kella and her husband Gregory, Kyleen, Hannah and her husband Will, Jonathan, Connor, Rhys, and Tessa, and his great-grandchildren Evin, Gionni, Jensen, and Ellyana. Roger also had many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Roger Storozuk Sr. and Jane E. Scott, and his grandson Blaine A. Nicholas.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 10th from 10 am to 12 pm at Wrisley Funeral Home located at 90 Sugarloaf St. South Deerfield, MA. Burial will follow at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Cemetery on Long Plain Rd, Whately. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Roger's memory can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to the South County EMS, South Deerfield, honoring his life and service.

We will Love You "Forever and Ever Amen." You will never be forgotten.
