Ronald "Jack" Whitney

Erving, MA - Ronald "Jack" Whitney, 83 of Erving MA passed onto his heavenly home on 8/4/2025 in Erving, MA.

Born 4/18/1942, the son of Lawrence D. Whitney and Alice M. (Leger) (Whitney) Daniel of Northfield, MA.

Jack attended Northfield Elementary School and Pioneer Valley Regional High School. Jack lived in Northfield the first 44 years of his life then moving to Erving in 1986 and recently spending his winters in Wesley Chapel, FL.

Since he was the age of 18 years old Jack owned and operated several businesses which included "R.J. Whitney Trucking & Excavating", "Whitney Milk Transportation, "Whitney Trucking Inc", "Dodge Bros Parts International", "Little Rascals children clothing store", "Whitney Enterprises", "Stoneville Realty Trust", Whitney Wood Products", and last but not least "Stoneville Auto".

Jack was very active in Antique Vehicle clubs and flea marketing. He was known from coast to coast, also in Europe as an expert in 1914-1927 Dodge Bros Vehicles. A charter member of the World Wide "Dodge Bros Club", "T-Bird Owners Club", "Antique Auto Club of America", "Early Reo Club", and "Lincoln-Zephyr Owners Club". Locally Jack was co-founder of the "Yankee Motor Club" in 1977, "The Northeast Chevy GMC Truck Club" and the "Tri State Coin Club & Shows" in 2002.

Jack was heavily into his genealogy search giving copies of his research to many of his family members.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years (totaling 42 years of an amazing life together) Bernardette M. Whitney; 3 sons, John L. Whitney, David E. Sloan (Raechelle) and Daniel L. Sloan all of Erving, 3 daughters, Jacklyn Whitney (Rick) of Blandford, MA, Jennifer Whitney (Matt) of Sandisfield, MA, and Danine Sloan of Greenfield, MA. 2 brothers, Daniel Whitney (Michele), and Matt Bazzani (Debra), and a sister, Laurie Hall all of Northfield, MA, 4 grandchildren, Summer Lynn, Deven, Brayden, and Kaiden, and a great grandson Adriel. Besides his parents Jack is predeceased by his son Clifton L. Whitney in 1996.

Jack was a member of the Erving Evangelical Church and The Fellowship Bible Church in Florida. Per Jack's request there will be no formal services. There will be a celebration of life at the family's convenience.

As Jack would say "Will see you again, Bye Bye Everyone!!"
