Sheila Moschen Obituary

Sheila Moschen

Greenfield, MA - Sheila Moschen (74) of Greenfield, Massachusetts passed away on Monday, January 15th while visiting family in Buda, TX. She was born in Greenfield on January 7, 1950 to Mary (Herrick) and Angelo Moschen.

Sheila was the oldest of four children. She attended Greenfield schools and graduated from Greenfield Community College, Springfield Technical Community College, and the University of Massachusetts. She was a dental hygienist and a teacher of Transcendental Meditation. Over the years, she also served as a hospice volunteer, court mediator, and ESL teacher. Sheila enjoyed music and wrote many short songs, some of which she sang with her dear friend Mary Rose. Sheila also created 108 radio shows in Fairfield, Iowa, called "Let Your Heart Sing," which are still on YouTube.

Sheila was a loving mother to her two children, Allyson Mount and Timothy Mount. She cherished her time with her three precious grandchildren, Olivia, Alyssa, and Zachary. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her three siblings, Carole Kazakiewich, Colin Moschen, and Michael Moschen, as well as by nieces and nephews and other extended family.

Inquisitive and bold by nature, her life was packed with adventures, like a party at the White House and Spanish immersion courses in a foreign country. But it was Sheila's spiritual journeys that guided her path in life and the place where she found the most fulfillment. Her inner bliss gave her the strength to persevere, no matter the struggles she faced, and she brought love, laughter and compassion to all who knew her.

We are grateful for the friendship and support that so many of Sheila's friends provided throughout the past year, and especially for the exceptional devotion of her local friends who spent many days and nights with her in recent months. Thank you all for the joy that you shared with her.

A gathering to celebrate Sheila's life will be held in the spring.

Sheila was a wonderful friend and for one year, she was a great help to me and my family after I gave birth to triplets and their older brother was just three years old. Timmy and Allyson would come with her to the house and play with our kids and Sheila would do everything that I wasn´t able to, since I was nursing the triplets at the time.

Sheila lived a highly spiritual life, and was always joyful and friendly and gave much to the community at large as well as her many friends. She is missed don the planet, but I´m sure she´s now singing with that angelic voice of hers with the other angels.

I tried to find a photo of her with our family, but I only came up with this one of her and her kids at her wedding, which Bob performed as clergy.

Heartfelt condolences to the family. I know how very much you will all miss her.
