Todd Eric Walker 1971 - 2023

Black Mountain, NC - Todd Eric Walker, 1971-2023, was a light among us. He left this life at the age of 52 on August 31, 2023. Todd was an amazing husband to Katie Hanning, with whom he shared 26 years of life-affirming adventures and was a guiding light in their partnership. He was the sweetest father to Clare, Lillian and Jade, so proud of their strong spirits and genuine hearts. Todd grew up in South Deerfield, MA, attended undergraduate school at University of New Hampshire, and graduate school at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medicine Arts in Asheville, NC. He was in a masters program for sustainability studies at Lenoir Rhyne University at the time of his death.

He and his wife worked in the field of Wilderness Therapy for adolescents in Idaho and later North Carolina. Always drawn to helping others and as a natural healer, Todd began his schooling for Chinese Medicine in 2003. For 16 years, Todd practiced Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in Asheville, NC where he treated countless patients as a gifted healer. He was an adventurer who found solace in the outdoors and a person who truly connected heart-to-heart with others. He loved to cook for his family and take them paddleboarding. He was a dancer and a drummer. He was a poet and a gardener. He was a builder of communities.

Todd's light burned so very bright and strong. He elevated others with his empathy, listening, and desire to celebrate alongside others. He strove to create an environment ripe for health and healing for each person. Todd was a creator of, and contributor to, all things better. For years, his desire to choose joy, adventure and family enabled him to stay ahead of his chronic neurological pain condition.

Todd leaves behind beloved family members- parents William & Carol Walker of South Deerfield, brothers and spouses Jeff & Alana Walker, Scott & Mary Ellen Walker, nephew William and niece Meredith and much loved extended family.
