Alida Monroe Obituary
We are sad to announce our Mom Alida has passed away battling an illness at her home in Porterville on January 7, 2024.
Alida was born on September 26,1955 in Tulare, Ca to Ruby and Joseph Skiles of Poplar, Ca. Alida was raised in Poplar and then later made a life in Porterville as a mother, wife and a homemaker when she married Ernie Monroe in 1975.
Alida made a life in Porterville raising 5 kids. Her job as a mother was her greatest accomplishment. Alida loved being a Mom and a Grandma. She made sure everyone was taken care of and was always there when they needed her. She enjoyed to read, play games, watch ghost TV shows, shop and spending time with family was her favorite.
Alida is survived by three sons Brian, Brant and Ben Monroe. One daughter Brandy Monroe. Three daughter in laws Machell Hopper, Monica Monroe and Nishia Cardenas. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren all of Porterville.Alida is also survived by one brother Leon Skiles of Or. Two sisters Juanita James of Idaho and Racheal Neal of Mo.She is preceded in death by her son Brandon Winters and husband Ernie Monroe.
A celebration of life will be held on February 4th, 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., The Elks Lodge 386 N Main St. Porterville Ca. 93257
