Aurora Cisneros Serna
November 29, 1946 October 28, 2025
Our mother, Aurora Cisneros Serna, 79, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, in Fresno, California. Born on November 29, 1946, in Raymondville, Texas, our mother lived a life marked by strength, compassion and unwavering devotion to her family. Our mother lived was blessed with six children: Robert Villarreal Jr., Joe Villarreal, Rene Villarreal, Mary Cabeje, Jesse Villarreal, and the late Oscar Villarreal. Her legacy continues through her ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. She also shared a special bond with her cherished dogs, Shushi and the late Chiquta.
Our mother was preceded in death by her parents, Catarino and Julia Cisneros; her siblings, Soveida Rodriguez and Otilia Brewster; and her brothers, Elivorio Cisneros, Simon Cisneros, Catarino Cisneros Jr., and Antonio Cisneros. Despite their physical departure, our mother held their memories dear throughout her life. Our mothers home was a reflection of the warmth she carried within. Walls adorned with photographs told the story of a life centered around love for family and friends. Her patio was filled with wind chimes and lawn ornaments; she had frogs wearing sunglasses and turtles with hats each piece lovingly placed as part of the joyful world she created. Among her favorite visitors were hummingbirds, she delighted in their presence and once cared for a nest just outside her door. Her feeders were always full, a small act that spoke volumes about her caring heart.
Our mothers career began at Nash De Camp in the early 80s and concluded with a 25-year commitment to the Porterville Developmental Center, where she retired with honor.
Only her generosity matched our mothers strength. Whether it was answering a call or showing up without hesitation, she was always ready to lend a helping hand. Even when facing pain herself, she worked tirelessly to support those around her. Our mother loved to brag about us. She would tell anyone who would listen and express how proud she was of us. She was proud of our accomplishments. And she was there for support if we failed. She would tell a stranger how proud she was of us. Our mother was a source of inspiration; she inspired us to reach our full potential. Our mother was one of the most caring individuals for all of us. She was the first person at the finish line to congratulate us with open arms. May our mothers memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
