Belen Hurtado Obituary
They moved to Porterville, August 1960 when Belen started working at St. Anne's School, later moving to the Parish Rectory until June 2010. Devoted Catholic, she loved her job meeting priest after priest, they would become her friends and sons.
In July 1962, her first great grandson was born and started calling her "Tiny Mema." That name stayed with her until the end. Belen was a member of St. Anne's and Holy Cross Church, Catholic Daughters, Guadalupe Dinner Dance, Porterville American Legion Auxillary, unit 20 and the NC Club. Belen was honored to be Woman of the Year for the Guadalupe Dinner Dance.
Belen leaves behind her children: Cynthia Ramirez (Paul), Nancy Miller ( Greg Scheer), Cari Kemp, Michael Hurtado (Gloria). Grandchildren: Scott Miller (Elena), Shawn Ramirez, Jason Scheer (Adranna), Shannon Ramirez (Shanay), Dustin Hurtado (Jannette) and Crystal Hurtado along with 11 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Michael Hurtado Sr., Jesus and Petra Delgado, Sal Delgado, Judy Estrada and Julius Miller. Belen was loving inspiration to all who knew her. Special thanks to the Hospice Ladies and her care givers. They showed love and care to our mother, grandma Pon Pon. Mom would always tell them, "Everything hurts what doesn't hurt doesn't work." Belen was a proud grandmother. Mom would always say to her grandchildren when they would leave, "Aye Te Watcho" See You Later. Visitation will be held from 5 pm – 8 pm on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm. Gods blessings and many prayers to all the family. Mrs Hurtado was a very good friend of my mother s and i remember her very wel.. She was so loving to every one that she met. May Mrs Hurtado rest in peace in the house of our lord.
