Donald
Ray Clifton, a Lindsay resident for 57 years, passed away on April 14, 2016. He was born in Russet, OK on July 20, 1938 and moved to the Exeter area with his family in 1954 where he graduated from Exeter High School in 1956. Ray, as most people knew him, was retired after working for the city of Lindsay from 1959-1977. He worked in the public works street department and parks department. In earlier years he was a Boy Scout Leader and coached little league baseball. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling & visiting with friends and family. Ray really loved going to his grandchildren's activities whether it be tennis, showing animals at the fair, piano recitals or whatever. He also enjoyed watching different kinds of sports. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Juanita Clifton, a son, Eddie Clifton, and a brother, Oscar Clifton. Ray is survived by his wife, Loretta of 58 years, his son Monty (wife Sheryl) of Strathmore. Five grandchildren, Ryan (Rachel) Clifton of Idaho, Amy Clifton of Idaho, Anna Clifton of OR, Emily Lopez (Alejandro) of Oregon, Brittani Clifton of Northern CA, and 2 great grandchildren. One sister, Virginia Epperson of Lindsay, three brothers, Lee (Mary) of Clovis, Mac (Monett) of Sacramento, Jerry (Linda) of Montana and one sister-in-law, Madeline Clifton of Sacramento.
Celebration of life Service for Donald Ray Clifton, will be held on Wednesday, April 20, at 10:00am at Webb Sanders Funeral Home Chapel the Rev. Russell Marshall Jr. officiating. Interment to be at Lindsay Strathmore Public Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Webb Sanders Funeral Home.
