George Sell Obituary
George Edward Sell a resident of Porterville, Ca. Passed away June 25, 2025 at the age of 79. He was born in Oxnard, Ca. On February 8, 1946 to Dorothy and Garnett Sell. He graduated from Porterville High in 1964.
George enlisted in 1964, and proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1968. He was schooled in Nuremberg, Germany at the United States Army School, Europe as a Explosives and Demolitions Specialist. Upon completion he was assigned to Viet Nam. Later he worked from Tulare County Public Works from 1970 until his retirement in 2003, working his way up to Road Yard Superintendent.
George is survived by his wife Barbara Hughes Sell. They would have celebrated their 55 wedding anniversary Aug. 28, 2025. He is also survived by Bryan Sell and grandson Jeremy Sell, Preston Sell and wife Jennifer Sell and Granddaughters Addison and Averie Sell. His brother-in-law
Gary Hughes, sister-in-law Caroline Hughes and 2 nephew and their families. Following George's wishes there was a private memorial for family only.
