Richard Wayne Bartlett

1957 - 2017

Richard Wayne Bartlett, husband, father, brother, and friend to many, passed away January 9, 2017.
Richard was born September 4, 1957 to parents Frank and Marian Bartlett.  He grew up in the Porterville area and graduated from Porterville High School in the class of 1975 and received his A.A. from Porterville College in 1977.  After graduation Richard worked in construction for several years with his father.  He later worked in the public works department for the City of Porterville as the Water Utility Superintendent for 20 years before becoming Deputy Director of Operations for the Town of Windsor in 2007.
Richard loved spending time with family and friends at the Sequoia Crest family cabin, a place he enjoyed since high school.  He was an avid outdoorsman and active member of Ducks Unlimited.  His greatest passion was spending cold winter mornings duck hunting with friends at Rancho Visalia and Manhattan Duck Club.   
Richard is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandy; sons Blake Bartlett and his wife Stacy, Kent Bartlett and Tamara Smee; granddaughters Brynn and Peyton Bartlett; brother Greg Bartlett and his wife Christi; sister Stacy Farquharson and her husband Eddie; brother-in-law Rick Thiesse and his wife Shona; Carol Lapham Bartlett and numerous nieces and nephews. 
Funeral services will be held at Myers Chapel on Tuesday January 17, 2017 at 1 PM, with a graveside service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
